Katy grew up as an only child and always considered the family pets her siblings. She’s felt an intrinsic connection with animals ever since she was a little girl and always wanted to do her part to better their lives. A career in veterinary medicine was simply the perfect choice! Katy is one of Faulkville Animal Hospital’s Registered Veterinary Technicians.
Katy is originally from Columbus, Ohio and graduated from Veterinary Technician school in the fall of 2014, passing her board examinations in November. She practiced at a clinic in Ohio for a year and a half before relocating to Savannah, Georgia for her husband’s job. Katy joined the Faulkville Animal Hospital team in May of 2016 and obtained her Veterinary Technician’s license for the state of Georgia that same year.
Around the clinic, Katy is particularly fond of nursing sick animals back to health and reassuring anxious pet owners. She’s also passionate about client education—if she can pass on her knowledge to ultimately improve a pet’s life at home, she knows she’s done her job!
In her time away from work, Katy likes walking and hiking, going to the beach, catching up on her favorite television shows, and spending time with her family at home. She and her husband, Dylan, have three dogs—a pair of Chihuahuas named Quinn and Tink who are practically inseparable, as well as another dog named Stella—and two cats who go by Dexter and Norman.
