Johnnie’s family always kept at least one pet around the house, so she grew up with animal care as a natural part of life. She’s always found comfort in the company of pets and wanted to do her part to give something back. Johnnie is able to do just that as a member of Faulkville Animal Hospital’s care team!
Johnnie was born on the grounds of Fort Benning and lived in three other states before her family settled back in Georgia. She attended Ogeechee Technical College in Statesboro to earn her veterinary certifications, working at a pet hospital in Savannah during her studies, before joining the team here at Faulkville Animal Hospital as an intern while she finished school. After graduation, Johnnie was happy to accept a full-time position with the hospital family! She’s especially fond of parasitology work and examining samples under the microscope, but her favorite part of the job is getting to meet loving pet owners and their adorable companions on a daily basis.
Johnnie and her husband have a beautiful young daughter, Alivia, as well as two dogs: St. Pierre is a sassy toy poodle who loves attention, and Athena is a boxer who doesn’t let her old age slow her down in the least. When she isn’t enjoying the company of her family and pets or helping the area’s animals here at the hospital, Johnnie likes attending festivals and fairs around town and making her own handcrafted jewelry. She even sells her creations on her Etsy page!
