Dr. Leser joined Faulkville Animal Hospital in 2022. Originally a Georgia native, Dr. Leser moved to Germany when she was two years old, so she is fluent in two languages (English and German) and almost fluent in French. Her family moved to Hawaii when she was six years old but then lived all over the United States. Her passion for veterinary medicine began when she started horseback riding and volunteering at a local animal shelter.
Dr. Leser completed her undergraduate work at North Carolina and then graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, she spent a summer in Africa working at an elephant conservation center. She has a special interest in forensic veterinary medicine and is currently pursuing her masters in the subject while working full-time. She wants the opportunity to give voice to those animals who have been mistreated and abused.
Dr. Leser loves to read and is an active member of book club. She also trains at a local mixed martial arts gym. Dr. Leser will wear orange and blue but doesn’t really understand the South’s love of football, she’d rather go kayaking or hiking. Her horse, Shortie (pictured here), was her best friend for ten years. Since he passed away, she has not found another animal to fill her house, so she fosters kittens and dogs on their way to their forever home.
